I think self-discipline is something, it’s like a muscle. The more you exercise it, the stronger it gets.
Exercise doesn’t have to be gruelling. At ThinkMiracle HQ, we practise yoga every day, on a rug in the office, simply wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Practice typically lasts around 30 minutes, resulting in a massive surge of energy that can continue for hours. Yoga often brings to mind awkward poses and tight lycra, and this western interpretation keeps many intrigued individuals away from the yoga class sign-up sheet. The yoga we practice is simple, and can be done at home alone, in a comfortable spot. While yoga is one of simplest ways to get your daily exercise fix, taking a brisk walk for 30 minutes has the same benefits. I take a walk on the beach every day, and afterwards I feel much sharper, more energetic, and happier. The biggest reasons cited, for people not doing exercise, is a lack of time and motivation. Yet, just taking 30 minutes of your day to stretch out your precious body can add years on to your lifespan, and will hugely increase your quality of life. In terms of motivation, you need to think of it as a gift to yourself, rather than a chore. Put on some nice music, and take some time for yourself. If you begin to think of exercise as a present to yourself, you will soon start to enjoy the process, as it quickly becomes part of your everyday routine. Our bodies are amazing, and a little light exercise everyday will keep it finely tuned so that you can receive the best out of life. Remember that exercise is to the body, what reading is to the mind – keep it entertained.
